Fruitful meeting with club teams regarding the 2022 league attended by the FFC President H.E. Sao Sokha and CEO Satoshi

Following crucial meeting last month, the outline for the 2022 season was agreed upon by all club teams. There will be a total of eight clubs competing in League 1 this 2022 season. There will be 12 clubs in League 2.

The league will start on March 5 and Ligue 1 will play for three rounds. And after that, the top 4 after three rounds will play another two round for Champions.

League 1

Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng, Boeung Ket FC, VISAKHA, Phnom Penh Crown FC, NAGA WORLD, Angkor Tiger FC, Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC, and Tiffy Army.

League 2

PREY VENG, Soltilo Angkor FC, EDC FC , Asia Europe United, and National Police FC are down to play league 2 with other 7 teams.

The decision to enter a club will be based on the new Cambodian Premier League entry criteria. It is fair for all clubs to be fair. It was discussed by Satoshi Saito's suggestion and the final decision was made by FFC President H.E. Sao Sokha.

Satoshi , CEO of Cambodian Football League Company commented on the meeting as following:

"There was an outcry from the League 2 clubs, but the CPL believes that League 2 is the same family. There is a possibility that League 2 clubs will return to League 1 next season."

President of FFC also understands that it was a difficult decision but no reform is painless. FFC President made it clear that all the responsibility lies with me, and told all the clubs to work together to create a better future together.

He also encouraged the players, especially those from the league 2 clubs, to stay motivated and play in spite of the situation.

This reform is a new page for the Cambodian League and is essential to bring the Cambodian League up to global standards.

៉I am confident that this decision will contribute to the success of the SEA Games.", FFC President stated.

FFC President H.E. Sao Sokha

What Satoshi would like you to pay special attention to is that not all clubs in the CPL look down on League 2 clubs. "Because League 2 is a very important part of the CPL and the FFC President reminded us of that point as well."

Satoshi and the FFC President believe that the 2022 season will be even more competitive than last year.
